Toledo, Spain, often referred to as the "City of Three Cultures," is renowned for its stunning medieval architecture and its historical coexistence of Christian, Muslim, and Jewish communities. This confluence of cultures has left an indelible mark on the city’s architectural landscape, making Toledo a fascinating destination for history and architecture enthusiasts.

In our travels, there are some places that simply call us back for more. It’s not that they are prettier, more vibrant, or even more interesting than anywhere else . . . but we can hear that faint whisper calling out, “we’ll see you again”. Such was the case with Córdoba, Spain as she beckons us back year after year. She is beautiful, charming, and a city filled with joy.

Ronda, Spain is the largest and one of the most famous of the Pueblos Blancos (White Villages) in Spain’s Malaga Province and sits dramatically atop a mountain high above a deep gorge. At the bottom of this gorge is the Guadalevin river which separates the 15th century “new” town from the old town, which dates back to Moorish rule. If you were only going to visit one of the Pueblos Blancos, I highly recommend that you visit Ronda.

Granada is easily one of our favorite cities in all of Spain. It’s got this interesting mix of polished shopping streets, beautiful architecture, and a gritty counter-cultural vibe that all seem to get along together nicely. Wandering these ancient streets is both captivating and enjoyable – they are filled with cafes, small shops, and homes that look much like we imagine they did 800 years ago. The cobbled streets and winding hills do not always make for an easy stroll, but it’s well worth the effort.

There is a lot of beauty to be found in Malaga, Spain, but the real charm of this city goes deeper than the beauty of its buildings or streets . . . it has a “je ne sais quoi” that is simply captivating. Malaga has a magnetic quality that draws you in, and has you feeling more alive and more energetic than before you arrived. It’s a combination of the winding streets, the different styles of architecture, and the cafes, museums, and shops at every turn. The locals and tourists crisscross throughout it all and there’s an expectant quality in the air – in a good way.

It is truly a joy to walk the streets of Sevilla. Its “old town” is the largest in Spain and one of the largest in all of Europe. At every turn there is a new winding street . . . a new point of discovery.
