We’re Carla Beach and Simcha Weinstein, passionate travelers who are deeply inspired by new places, new cultures, and new ways of seeing the world. Travel has expanded our lives in ways we never could have experienced by staying only in the United States. With every journey, we gain fresh perspective and embrace experiences that challenge us, enrich us, and broaden our understanding of life.
Our Story

As we journey across Europe, we see ourselves as citizens of the world. After leaving our home in Asheville, NC, and giving away or selling almost everything, we now travel with just two bags each, containing all our belongings. Wherever we are, for however long, that place becomes our home.
Eventually, we hope to make somewhere in Europe our new home, and we feel quite sure that when we find that place, we’ll know it. We look forward to that special moment, but until then, we keep moving, we keep exploring, and we stay open to all that life places before us. And it has already been quite a journey.

The Wonder of Wandering
As Mark Twain famously wrote, “Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness.” That has certainly been true for us. As we make our way across Europe, we think of ourselves as citizens of the world. After leaving our house in Asheville, North Carolina, and giving away or selling nearly everything we owned, we now travel with just two bags each. Everything we have is with us, and wherever we are, for however long, that place becomes home.

When Carla and I travel, we prefer to move slowly, giving ourselves time to settle into a place and really experience it. Of course we love the great sites, the architectural marvels, the ruins, the museums, and all the beauty a place has to offer. But just as meaningful to us is the everyday life of a town: its streets, its rhythm, its people, and its culture. We love walking, observing, and simply being there.

And so here we are, traveling through Europe in the way that feels most natural and meaningful to us. Through this website, we hope to share the places we visit, the experiences we have, and the insights we gather along the way. We want it to be enjoyable, engaging, and helpful, and we hope that some of what we share might even inspire or inform your own travels. We’re glad you’re here, and we’re happy to have you along for the journey.
