We are now in Corfu Town (Kerkyra) on the island of Corfu in northwest Greece, surrounded by the Ionian Sea . . . and we are loving it. The town is beautiful and charming with a strong Venetian influence. The coastline is gorgeous and tomorrow we have rented a car to explore more of the island. Corfu ticks every box for us . . . except one. It has the slowest internet we have experienced in decades. Quite honestly (and this is not an exaggeration), it feels similar to the old dail-up modem days.
Unfortunately, what this means is that I am not going to be able to publish our blog for the next few weeks. There is just not enough digital juice here for me to upload my photographs along with the writing. It literally took me one hour to load a Facebook post with just one image . . . and that involved several tries.
It’s so unfortunate as this place is wonderful and I can’t wait to share it with you . . . but it looks like my next blog won’t happen again until Wednesday, June 21. Even as we’ll be back from our trip at that time, there will still be much to share from our spring travels and I will continue writing about it throughout the summer months leading into our Autumn trip to Italy.
If you haven't already, I would encourage you to visit and follow our Facebook Page as I will be posting (hopefully) there daily. Thank you for understanding. I can’t wait to begin blogging again this summer . . . there will be so much to share from our travels to Greece - Naxos, Corfu, Athens, and more.
Until then, enjoy the rest of your Spring . . . keep an open heart and mind, and live your best life.
Hi Simcha and Carla! Love your blog!! Don't forget that you can get Starlink here now!! Very fast wifi speeds are possible here!! 😄
"Row row row your boat, gently down the stream...Merrily merrily merrily merrily, life is but a dream." It just came to me that this is your "theme song"...You two have been doing some mighty fine rowing and seem to be making it to The Dream! <3
Gorgeous magical Corfu! Maybe the slow internet reflects a slower pace of life there. I will miss your blogs and beautiful photos, but support you in enjoying a bit of almost digital-free time in this place of deep and abiding beauty.💙🌞🌊
